My main focus in caring for my patients is to listen carefully to their needs and formulate a care plan that will foster self-actualization. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Florida Atlantic University and have been practicing since June 2021. For over 5 years I have been providing medication management and supportive therapy to patients 18 years old to geriatric. I believe in patient advocacy and empowerment through delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare.
At our first session I hope to begin building trust and creating a therapeutic alliance. Effective communication with active listening and diagnostic tests will be completed in order to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan to include medication, supportive therapy, referrals, labs and imaging orders where necessary.
When treating my patients I focus on mental health while ensuring that I explore other factors that might be contributing to the patient's condition such as medical problems, so it is important for me to be aware of their medical history and obtain labs and order tests where necessary.
