In the course of my personal dealings with patients and their family members as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I became sensitized by the isolation and stigma felt in society by those with mental health issues. I felt inclined to explore more and provide the needed help. Also, my exposure to family members and friends dealing with mental health issues has had a profound impact on my pursuit of more knowledge and awareness of mental health.

Then, I let the patient know what my approach would be to arrive at final dialysis. Based on which an individualized treatment plan would be formulate, possibly to include talk therapy.
