Dr. Makous a Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry-trained, Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with extensive experience in Psychiatry and Counseling. In the past she established mental health clinics around the world, treating individuals from different cultures for a variety of mental illnesses. After a 2-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry at Columbia University's Department of Psychiatry, she stayed on as an Assistant Professor. She recently relocated to Exton, PA, where she treats adults with depression, anxiety, neuropsychiatric complications of Lyme, etc. Dr. Marina Makous is astute, warm, and collaborative: she listens to her patients and follows them to ensure the best treatment outcome possible.

I regard empathy, responsiveness, and respect for the patient as core therapeutic values. While I tailor treatment to the individual, as a psychoanalyst I place special importance on gaining insight about unconscious contributors to current difficulties. I also appreciate the importance of clarifying and resolving here-and-now problems. When appropriate I prescribe medications or work short-term. My style is collaborative rather than authoritarian. For many years I have taught psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to trainees in these fields. I also teach professional ethics. I have published in the major journals in my field and am a training and supervising psychoanalyst.

Dr. Conboy’s treatment philosophy centers around an empathic view of the person as a whole, and explores the patient’s past and present in order to understand his/her/their current thoughts and feelings. As a person attains a deeper understanding of self, this awareness may help with his/her/their life struggles. While psychotherapy is Dr. Conboy’s primary form of treatment, she also prescribes medications, and offers counseling in other evidence based treatments such as cardiovascular exercise, meditation, and yoga.

Habiba Mzougui is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience treating patients across the lifespan. She is a graduate of Drexel University. She has cared for adults and children living with depression, anxiety, trauma, and childhood-related conditions such as ADHD, emotional dysregulation/anger management, learning, and behavioral challenges. NP Mzougui is passionate about the mental health of children and families.
