I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience working in mental health nursing since 2018. My area of specialization includes LGBTQIA+ issues, Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD. Outside of work, I enjoy the company of my two Huskies and two Persian cats. When free, I can be found playing the bass guitar or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. A love for cooking is further fueled by my spouse, a baker, making us quite the culinary team.

Born and raised in Kansas City, I decided to pursue a medical career during high school. I went to trade school and worked as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. After several years I decided to further my education in nursing, attaining my LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, and post-graduate certification. I graduated summa cum laude from all nursing coursework. Margurite decided to pursue my PMHNP certification out of my desire to more effectively help others suffering from anxiety and depression.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have worked outpatient for the last 8 years, providing medication management and ketamine treatment. Previously I worked in-patient with those in acute crisis & additionally in home health, providing psychiatric care in the patient's home. I provide integrative care, working with the patient's health care provider & therapist when indicated. I believe in a holistic treatment approach & I practice evidence-based treatment. My treatment goals include providing improved quality of life & I am eager to work with patients who are motivated to make personal changes.

I am board certified in adult, child, & adolescent psychiatry. My goals are to alleviate suffering and focus on improving my patients' relationships, school or work-life balance, and ultimate acceptance of the self. My preference is to pursue wellness first through therapy, nutrition, exercise, and optimizing sleep. Medications may also be needed, and with my medical background I can prescribe them using safety and the newest evidenced based practices. I feel the therapeutic alliance, or the partnership between a psychiatrist and patient, is essential for an individual to receive the greatest possible benefits from the therapy.

Psychiatric medications are implemented to decrease the severity and intensity of symptoms. Amber Grob has a conservative approach to medications. Specifically, diagnoses can be managed with limited medications on a consistent basis, as well as as needed medications. In some situations, there are compounding health or medical issues that can make this difficult. Medical, physical, hormonal and physiological components can be factors contributing to the presentation of psychiatric symptoms. All of this is assessed at your first appointment, as well as ongoing. Amber Grob also provides Genetic Testing for medication metabolism.
