I use a number of psychotherapeutic modalities with a particular focus on psychodynamic psychotherapy. Where appropriate, I prescribe carefully tailored medication in conjunction with psychotherapy to help my clients meet their goals. I am experienced in treating a wide range of mental health problems including anxiety, depression, insomnia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, alcohol and other substance use disorders, PTSD, grief and interpersonal conflict. I prescribe based on the best available scientific evidence and my clinical experience, and have no affiliation with any pharmaceutical company.
I am an NYU-trained, board certified psychiatrist in private practice in midtown Manhattan. I was an associate professor at both Mount Sinai and NYU. I have directed an inpatient addiction consult service at Elmhurst hospital. I completed both my MD degree and Adult Psychiatry Residency at NYU School of Medicine, where I was chief resident.
