I am a board certified psychiatrist treating adolescents and adults suffering from stress related issues that are causing dysfunction in your life. Some issues are as simple as learning healthy coping skills and having a support system that understands you. If you are suffering from a new onset or chronic illness such as bipolar, depression, substance use disorder, or anxiety, our practice will provide both medication and therapy to help in certain cases. You will receive an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. We provide concierge service (travel) to you in the comfort of your home or office-(postponed).

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and New York University (NYU). After graduating as chief resident, I went on to pursue a fellowship and work in the public sector serving those most in need. My clients often include those that have been struggling with difficulties that impair their day to day function, leaving them unsatisfied, unhappy or struggling with inner turmoil or anxiety. I am a therapist and physician experienced in helping people of all ages experiencing depression, anxiety, learning difficulties, medical illnesses and other challenges. With more than 30 years of outstanding caring, Dr. Liteanu is a New York compassionate psychiatrist who has within his practice successfully cared for people’s well being, including their emotional, behavioral and physical symptoms. He is inspiring people to excel and reach their greatest potential. Dr. Liteanu has an excellent background in psychiatry and post-doctoral training from Harvard Medical School in the latest treatment approaches. He is a distinguished alumnus from Columbia University.

While most psychiatrists provide only medication management, I offer patients a combination of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. I believe that medications facilitate therapy, in that they allow us just enough distance from our emotions for therapy to take hold and grow. As a physician, a psychiatrist, and a therapist, I am uniquely positioned to treat your entire being, ensuring your physical, mental, and emotional needs are all addressed in the same place, by the same person.

My goal is to bring hope to my clients, and help them understand and cope better with the people and life situations associated with the onset of their symptoms. I am a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who specializes in different forms of psychotherapy--cognitive behavioral (CBT), metacognitive (MCT), interpersonal (IPT), psychodynamic, and supportive therapy--in addition to pharmacology to augment psychotherapy only when the need arises. I enjoy a diverse, multicultural client base and speak several languages.

As a board-certified psych NP, I'm licensed by the NY state to evaluate and treat psychiatric symptoms such as those associated with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders. In combination with psychotherapy, I can also prescribe medications when indicated as they can be very helpful in alleviating your daily symptoms.
