Hi, I am Dr. Pooja Shah, a board-certified child psychiatrist and adult psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Autism. We will start with an initial 90-minute appointment where we go over your symptoms and formulate an evidence-based treatment plan including talk therapy and if appropriate, use of medications where indicated. I am a psychiatric provider/nurse practitioner Kaushiki Kapoor PMHNP-BC licensed by NJ board to prescribe psychiatric medications and can conduct psychotherapy at the same time. My personal philosophy of treatment is that just by meds all problems do not disappear. Medications and psychotherapy in combination need to happen for the body and mind wellness as well as growth. The practice of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as Adult Psychiatry, is as exciting as it is varied. This specialty is truly one of the last bastions in modern medicine that allows the practitioner to 'connect' with the patient, and one where the value of the patient's input is not underestimated. My clinical interests include childhood and adolescent depression, other mood disorders, ADHD, child and adolescent anxiety disorders such as OCD, and post traumatic stress disorder. I am a Harvard trained infant, child, & adult psychiatrist. Because of my unique background in infancy, parenting, perinatal health, ADHD, child and adult psychiatry, I offer services to all age groups by applying principals of psychotherapy, pharmacology, and neuroscience. I also do school consultation and provide comprehensive evaluations for excessive social media use, PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and stress or burnout.

Sadness, ADD, addiction, relationships, other anguish? No matter what pain you bear, there is hope, with care, scientific evidence, and if needed legal help. For every problem, there are solutions: I have witnessed personal change, growth at any age. For children: identity and learning; for adults work/other responsibilities, or staying active and fully enjoying the wisdom of a mature life. Together we identify the issue(s), talking support CBT therapy and/or medication including natural complementary, exercises, work coaching. For fees, I work flexibly with those patients who have out of network coverage so they are reimbursed.
