Dr. Swaminathan Thangaraj is a double-board certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist in Boston. He is currently an assistant professor at Drexel College of Medicine. Dr. Thangaraj also worked at McLean Hospital/Harvard University and Sheppard Pratt establishing various inpatient units. He is one of the few doctors who treats patients of all ages from toddler, adolescence to adulthood.

I am a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having started as an Educator, My Education and training Include a Master’s in psychology, a Master’s in Community and Public health, a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner, CAGS in PMHNP and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. As a Doctorate prepared Psychiatric and Family practitioner, I draw on my knowledge of Nursing, Psychology, Community / Public Health and Education to advocate for and provide the very best solutions for those I serve. I am a Harvard-trained, double board-certified, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, providing a high level of expertise and knowledge to my patients. As part of my commitment to delivering comprehensive and specialized care, I have collaborated with two fellow academic psychiatrists to establish a group private practice, ReThink Minds, LLC, which offers a broad spectrum of services to our patients. I believe that every patient is unique and therefore requires a personalized approach to their care. My goal is to provide personalized care that addresses not just symptoms, but also unique circumstances and experiences.

People are often unaware of, and frustrated by, the emotional and relational roadblocks that repeatedly thwart them. I work with you to clarify and understand these issues and their origins, to help you effect positive change. I believe that the self-understanding that catalyzes such change is best reached by cultivating a psychotherapeutic relationship in which compassionate, honest and constructive communication can occur. Leading a fulfilling and happy life can be challenging and may even seem impossible at times. I believe that communicating and connecting via talk therapy is one path towards a happier and more meaningful life. My view is that therapy provides an opportunity to gain insight into one's relationships with one's self, others and society. I use a variety of approaches in my therapeutic work according to what works for each individual person. Together we'll focus on trying to understand the root causes of various problems and repetitive patterns of behavior that are difficult to change.

I have 30 years of clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and young adults. It is my passion to work with my patients and families to address their challenges in a comprehensive way which results in the best outcomes for my patients and their families. I have specialized in ADHD, anxiety, and depression and have conducted research at Mc Lean Hospital in those areas. Medication evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy are my specialties. I also teach advanced practice nursing and psychopharmacology at Northeastern University. .

Dr. Toppelberg is an experienced, Harvard-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, usually working with ages 3-30. He evaluates and treats emotional/ behavioral difficulties including ADHD, depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, and selective mutism, and those preventing weight loss. He has focused on issues of performance at work, study and competitive sports. He regularly works with tour-level tennis players and other professional and student athletes. He is an expert in neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as learning and language disabilities. He runs psychiatric services at an excellent school for children/adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, the prestigious New England Center for Children.

I am an integrative practitioner licensed in NJ & MA who can assess biochemistry to identify important deficiencies/abnormalities that may be related to mental health symptoms. I can provide genetic testing for med management. Patients often seek integrative/"functional" psychiatry after they have trialed multiple medications, experienced unpleasant/unremitting side effects, and have not been able to obtain symptom alleviation with traditional psychiatry. I believe strongly in psychotherapy to help the patient work towards healing. I work collaboratively with other treatment providers and am a strong advocate for my patients needs.

I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience treating patients of all ages. I treat all mental health diagnoses but specialize in treatment resistant depression, treatment resistant anxiety and building self worth and empowerment. I incorporate evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy. I graduated from Ohio University with my Bachelor’s degree in nursing then went on to complete my Master’s degree. I am licensed in Ohio, WV, Washington, Massachusetts, Oregon and Colorado. I accept many commercial health plans and cash pay. I do not accept medicaid/medicare.
