Dr. Choy is a board certified psychiatrist with an expertise in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. She is certified to conduct cognitive behavioral therapy by the Academic of Cognitive Therapy, and specializes in the integration of medication and cognitive behavioral therapy for social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and other psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Choy is past president of the Orange County Psychiatric Society, and a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She was honored by the Orange County Medication Association with the Physician of Excellence Award in 2016. Dr. Choy is also associate professor of psychiatry on volunteer faculty at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
Dr. Choy received her medical degree at Cornell University Medical College, followed by four years of psychiatry residency and chief resident at New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital. She completed a fellowship in anxiety disorders at Columbia University, and received advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy at the Beck Institute.
