Born and raised in Kansas City, I decided to pursue a medical career during high school. I went to trade school and worked as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. After several years I decided to further my education in nursing, attaining my LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, and post-graduate certification. I graduated summa cum laude from all nursing coursework. Margurite decided to pursue my PMHNP certification out of my desire to more effectively help others suffering from anxiety and depression.

We specialize in treating a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar mood disorder, addiction, phobias, anxiety, and OCD among others. We work with you, with the respect and understanding that you are a partner in all decision-making regarding what is best for your individual needs and preferences. We are experienced with all levels of trauma and stress, which have increased dramatically in our modern, fast-paced world. We pride ourselves in our ability to connect with individuals and families and thoughtfully assist our clients through challenges with warmth and compassion.

I am an adult psychiatrist, providing both psychotherapy and medication management for patients with a wide variety of psychiatric disorders including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, trauma-related disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, attention deficit disorders, and others. I practice evidence based conventional medication management but am complementary-medicine and alternative-medicine friendly. I will take patients who work with other psychotherapists and are in need of medication management alone, or am able to provide both services.

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of Psychiatric Mental Health experience, focusing mostly in crisis treatment, alcohol and opioid dependence along with the treatment of schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety. I consult all clients without judgment, exclude no psychiatric issue or age group and truly believe every patient deserves only the best treatment and care. I have worked in several different units in the psychiatric Hospitals around the Miami area. I have two beautiful young children and an amazing wife that supports me in everything I do; they are the backbone of my life.

The most effective treatment plan may include work-life balance, nutrition and sleep strategies, addressing, avoiding or adapting to triggers, in addition to multiple psychotherapies. When needed, medications with the lowest side effects, easiest to use, most predictably effective & not addictive are recommended. Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide which strategies they will use to achieve wellness.

I am originally from Alabama and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for my MSN. I also spent 7 years in the Army and am a combat veteran. I have been in Nursing since 2013 and mental health since 2016 where I got my start at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tennessee working with inpatient psychiatry. Working with veterans helped me to realize my next career goal of becoming a PMHNP. I set forth and graduated in 2020 with my MSN as a PMHNP.

Hello! I graduated with a degree in nursing from Santa Monica College in 2009. Since that time, I’ve worked in several hospital settings including intensive care. I finished my first masters degree as and Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2017 from California State University at Dominguez Hills and started managing extremely sick people in a long-term acute care hospital One universal I’ve seen throughout my many different careers in and out of healthcare is that the presence (or absence) of good mental health care spells the difference between success and failure in any environment.

My experience as a nurse expends 20 years and includes nursing education and emergency room practice. My experience as a provider is 10 years and includes emergency medicine, family practice, geriatrics and practicing as a sexual assault nurse examiner for almost 18 years. My hobbies include cooking and traveling with family and friends. I am a dog lover and proud mother to 2 english bulldogs and 3 human children.

I specialize in medication management and mindfulness meditation. I lived in a Zen monastery for six months and practice daily in my personal life. I am a certified tree-hugger, lover of music (rhythm-based; Celtic), avid reader, and long-distance hiker/walker.
