Jennifer Serrentino, MD is a board certified psychiatrist who has been practicing psychiatry for over nineteen years. She received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Serrentino performed her psychiatry residency at the Bellevue Hospital Center/New York University program where she was appointed chief resident in her graduating year. Upon graduation in 2001, she stayed on as an attending psychiatrist in the Bellevue Hospital Psychiatric Outpatient Department.

I completed my psychiatry residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. After residency, I went on to have a 2-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Mt. Sinai St. Luke's Hospital in NYC. Besides being in private practice, I am a professor at Stony Brook University where I supervise residents and medical students. I also serve as a psychiatrist in United States Army Reserve. While I believe in the importance of accurate diagnosis, I think people are much more than a diagnosis and require treatment that is individualized to their needs and circumstances.
