Many women struggle silently with mood changes, anxiety, or intrusive thoughts during pregnancy and after birth.
I’m a Cornell trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist specializing in reproductive mental health. Together, we’ll take a thoughtful, evidence based approach to understand what’s happening and find a path forward. For some people therapy alone is enough, while others find the greatest benefit from combining anti- anxiety medication with psychotherapy.

In addition to adult ADHD, I work with professionals and motivated adults who experience anxiety, insomnia, and stress that interfere with focus, decision making, and quality of life.
I am a psychiatrist in New York City specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adult ADHD. I work with professionals and executives who are highly capable, motivated, and thoughtful, yet find that attention difficulties, disorganization, or mental overload are limiting their performance and follow through. Many of the people I work with are successful in their careers and personal lives but want more consistency, clarity, and control in how they think, decide, and execute day to day.

I work especially well with individuals navigating depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, gender and sexuality concerns, and the intersection of leadership, burnout, and resilience.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist who completed training at the NYU School of Medicine and at the University of Oxford. I recognize that reaching out for help can be difficult, and I strive to make that first step feel safe and supported. Mental health is shaped by a wide range of factors—including current stressors, past experiences, identity, and cultural background—and my approach honors all of these layers. My treatment style is collaborative, empathic, and evidence-based. I offer both medication management and psychotherapy, with a focus on understanding each person’s unique goals and experiences.

I specialize in treating an adult and young adult population, with extensive experience evaluating and managing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and ADHD, as well as working with more diffuse issues around identity, interpersonal relationships, and professional achievement.
I am happy to work with patients who are reluctant to take medications and it appears that pharmacologic treatment could be of some benefit but is not absolutely necessary. I employ a psychodynamic approach to therapy, though will utilize more directive, CBT techniques where appropriate.

We all walk a different path, but human emotion is universal. Sometimes our emotions become overwhelming and we feel buried by them, paralyzed. I know this because I've been down those roads and I've come out the other side. My formal training makes me qualified to provide treatment, but my life experiences make me capable of providing care. As a member of the LGBTQ community, nonjudgement is my top priority. I offer a genuinely safe space for ALL.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
