I am a psychopharmacologist who specializes in the psychiatric treatment of adults with medication management. I attended New York University Medical School and NYU Psychiatry Residency. I have had the honor of being Unit Chief of the Inpatient Psychiatric Services at Elmhurst Hospital. I have also been the Associate Director and the Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Room at the Mount Sinai Hospital. I have been an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Hospital since 2000 where I teach residents and medical students. I am Board-Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1998.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in New York City. I completed my Adult Psychiatry training at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and I am currently completing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Weill Cornell and Columbia University Medical Centers. At this time, I am accepting adult clients only, though I will look forward to welcoming child and adolescent clients beginning in Summer 2024. I have expertise in both talk therapy and medication management for a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD.

The stigma around mental health treatment can make initiation intimidating, because of this I offer a non judgmental and confidential space to get the treatment you need. As well I focus on the individual and not the diagnosis. Medication management cannot be performed properly if people are all treated the same. Services include medication management/review ,medical marijuana, and first time consultations to discuss a treatment plan. ADHD diagnosis/management is also provided. ADHD is often overlooked or under treated. My goal is to provide a personal experience where we work together for optimal care ensuring all needs are met.

I am a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry who specializes in children, adolescents , adults and older adult medication management for anxiety, depression , ADHD and cyclic mood disorders (bipolar disorders). I believe medication can be helpful when prescribed in small dosages and when the patient is fully informed about what the medicine is expected to do for them. Nurse Practitioners are are not interested in labeling you with a diagnosis. We are generally far more focused in treating your distressing symptoms.

Doctor Sindhu is an Inpatient Attending Psychiatrist at South Beach Psychiatric Centre in Staten Island, New York, and also, at Northwell Staten Island University Medical Center.
