You’ve been holding it together for a while now. Smiling when you’re unsure. Powering through when you’re running on empty. Saying “I’m fine” when things feel anything but fine. It can feel like everyone else got the manual for life and you're stuck guessing. The pressure to make the “right” choices—about school, jobs, relationships—can feel constant and exhausting. Therapy with me is a place where you don’t have to perform, prove, or explain things that feel too big or too blurry. We slow things down. We name what’s really going on. We figure out what matters to you.

My practice is devoted to helping patients surmount the obstacles that interfere with their ability to function optimally and live their best lives. Using evidence-based practices, I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is compatible with your goals and values as an individual. Some of my patients see great benefit from the judicious use of the right medications alone; others prefer treatment which involves only psychotherapy. Many find that a combination of these two treatment modalities brings the quickest and longest lasting results.

Are you feeling empty or frustrated in your daily life? Your work is good, or good enough, but stressful or unfulfilling. Or you want your child to be happy and healthy, not sad or anxious, losing friends or their grades falling, instead more confident in social and academic situations. Or both. Despite your best efforts so far, nothing seems to work. You may feel powerless-but you already have all the tools you need to help yourself, or your child. You're the most important person in their lives (and your own), so I make sure you’re getting support and validation you need at home, at work, and/or in your child’s school system.

An integrative approach brings together treatments like instruments in a symphony, creating layered, additive relief.
I use a whole-person approach to help adolescents and adults, with a special focus on professional women, struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, and life transitions regain control, reach their goals, and become their most joyful selves. I also specialize in parent guidance, particularly for parents of neurodiverse children with ADHD, on the autism spectrum, or other learning/processing differences. Through culturally competent care, I also help those in the LGBTQIA+ and Jewish communities who are exploring issues such as sexuality, gender, and emerging identity cultivate confidence and a sense of belonging.

You might feel stuck- like you're just going through the motions of life without a clear sense of direction or purpose. You may struggle with persistent feelings of sadness, worry, or emptiness that you can't quite explain. Your mind may race with anxious thoughts, or you might feel constantly drained, weighed down by a sense of hopelessness or frustration. Maybe you’ve started to wonder if your current challenges are connected to earlier experiences, but you haven’t been able to make sense of it all. You just know that something doesn’t feel right, and you’re longing for clarity, relief, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

We all walk a different path, but human emotion is universal. Sometimes our emotions become overwhelming and we feel buried by them, paralyzed. I know this because I've been down those roads and I've come out the other side. My formal training makes me qualified to provide treatment, but my life experiences make me capable of providing care. As a member of the LGBTQ community, nonjudgement is my top priority. I offer a genuinely safe space for ALL.

I believe every person is unique and therefore needs an individually-tailored therapy approach. My primary approach is psychodynamic, existential and action-oriented. Psychodynamically, I work with my patients to understand how patterns of thinking and feeling from early childhood affect their current lives. Existentially, I help my patients to find personal meaning in their life and cultivate their uniqueness. An empathic & action-oriented approach enables my patients to make real and lasting changes in their personal and professional lives. If desired by the patient, I can prescribe psychiatric medication when medically indicated.

FAQ - Integrative Psychiatrists
What is integrative psychiatry?
Integrative psychiatry is an approach in which a psychiatrist draws from multiple treatment modalities, including different types of psychotherapy and medication management, to create a treatment plan tailored to an individual's specific needs. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic technique or defaulting straight to medication, an integrative psychiatrist considers a client's health holistically and collaborates with them to identify the most effective combination of treatments.

What can an integrative psychiatrist help with?
An integrative psychiatrist can address a wide range of mental health concerns by combining therapeutic approaches with medical expertise. Because psychiatrists can both prescribe medication and provide psychotherapy, they are uniquely positioned to adjust treatment plans based on how a client responds to different interventions. Integrative psychiatry can be part of a treatment plan for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, OCD, ADHD, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and a variety of other conditions. An integrated approach may be particularly useful when a mental health condition has not historically responded to one form of treatment alone.

How do I know if integrative psychiatry is right for me?
Integrative psychiatry may be a good fit if you have previously tried a single treatment approach, such as medication or therapy alone, and have not seen the results you were hoping for. It may also be worth exploring if your symptoms feel complex or interconnected, if you prefer a more collaborative approach to your care, or if you want a provider who will consider multiple factors contributing to your mental health rather than focusing solely on medication management. On the other hand, if your condition is well-managed with a straightforward treatment plan of therapy or medication alone, a regular psychiatrist may be sufficient. The best way to determine whether integrative psychiatry is the right approach is to schedule a consultation with a prospective psychiatrist to discuss your treatment history, current symptoms, and goals of care.
