You’re ready to reconnect with your best self, perform at your peak, and maximize your potential. You know how it feels to create and perform in your flow state: you're completely in the moment, doing what you love, at your best. In the studio, your creativity flows and finds its voice. On the field or in the ring, your practice and training are a seamless part of you. Professionally, you can see all the moving parts and orchestrate them together in the most optimal way. Yet, you’re having trouble connecting with that version of yourself. You’re getting stuck in your head and not performing at the level you know is in you.

The practice of Psychiatry is truly one of the last bastions in modern medicine that allows the practitioner to 'connect' with the patient, and one where the value of the patient's input is not underestimated. Understanding the impact of one's life experiences, and the interaction with a person''biology and temperament is an art that few have the opportunity to practice regularly. We are proud to announce Transcraneal magnetic stimulation ( TMS ) since 2014. for resistant treatment depression, anxiety, PTSD. TMS is covered by most insurances.

Accepting New Patients. Patients that I see want to get better and find out why they are having problems. My practice is largely devoted to mood and thought disorders. I am a minimalist when it comes to using psychiatric medications. I am often seeing folks who are either over-medicated and/or on the wrong types of medications. The 2 letters after my surname are M and D. To me, these letters not only stand for Medical Doctor, but almost more important to me, is they stand for Medical Detective.

Inspire yourself to be a better you. "Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you are going." "Healing isn't about changing who you are, it's about changing your relationship to who you are. A fundamental part of that is honoring how you feel," Susanne H. "Don't be ashamed of your story. It will inspire others." "You may have to fight a battle more than once, " Margaret Thatcher. "There is no shame in taking medication for mental illness. Do whatever works for you." "A child's mental health is just as important as their physical health and deserves the same quality of support," Kate M.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
