I treat a broad range of problems, based on years of experience. Often, I combine medication and psychotherapy with good results. I treat acute conditions, such as severe depression and anxiety, to help the patient restore his or her level of functioning. I also treat longer-lasting conditions which might allow one to "get by", but feel as if they are tied in knots. I feel positive about having helped many people make long-lasting and important changes in their lives.
I completed a psychiatric residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where I was a chief resident and also on the faculty. For many years, I was active in organized psychiatry, and was president of the Ohio Psychiatric Association and representative to the American Psychiatric Association.
