My name is Dr. Nicole Asante. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and working with clients in Tennessee and Kentucky via telehealth. I work with age 15 and above and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, eating disorder, substance abuse, strong knowledge in Veteran's care, schizophrenia as well as other mental health conditions, I believe in a combination of medication regimen and counseling to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. Provide education so clients can make an inform decision. This often starts by building trust between us, and getting comfortable with what it means to need help with their mental health which can be from therapy only to therapy.
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the much of our time talking about how you've been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there.
