About
Based in Fort Lauderdale (South Florida), Dr. Almeida-Scaff is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She currently sees patients (ages 6 to 50) in person or through telemedicine in Florida. She practiced in Atlanta, Georgia for many years prior to relocating to Florida and is able to provide care for patients in Georgia through telemedicine as well. Her areas of focus include treating adults, children and adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), depression and anxiety disorders. She provides psychiatric care for her patients in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
She provides consultation services, diagnostic evaluations, and medication management for children, adolescents and adults (ages 6 to 50). She uses a comprehensive approach to mental heath viewing the patient as a whole. She's not under contract with any insurance programs but can provide documentation to file for out of network benefits (where applicable).
By taking a thorough medical, psychiatric, and lifestyle history, she takes into consideration all aspects that could contribute to the patient's presenting concerns. She works collaboratively with her patients, as well as treating therapist and other providers to create a personalized, evidence-based focused treatment plan for the desired improvement areas.
