Early in life I opted to serve in the US Air Force in a non-medical field. After my time, I felt it was time for a change into healthcare. I spent several years in critical care, mental health, home health, and other specialties. It was sometime later in returning back to school for higher education as I wanted to do more for people.
I am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and spent many years in primary care and mental health. Since COVID, mental health has become quite tough. Watching many patients have worsening mental health I returned back to school to obtain my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as I could see that living with a mental illness is challenging.
Things that should make you happy on a daily basis, don’t. Relationships of the ordinary become challenging. Sometimes it's difficult to feel successful, even though you can see that you are. When you work with me, I'm right there with you, searching for a hopeful future while tackling the pain one week at a time.
