I care for patients from the paradigm that mental and physical health are so strongly intertwined that one may not fully achieve either without striving for both. I treat both a vast range of psychiatric conditions and help those who wish to better understand themselves and their relationships. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, whole body health, coping with medical illness, and addiction medicine. I will formulate a customized treatment plan, which may include psychotherapy, medications, and behavioral techniques, to best care for your condition and meet your needs.
I see patients in person or via telepsychiatry, depending on your needs. Telepsychiatry (telehealth, telemedicine) is a medical tool in which visits are conducted via secure and encrypted videoconferencing. Telepsychitary can be a good way to add extra sessions during the week or make appointments when away from Palo Alto.
In addition to general adult mental health, I also practice Addiction Medicine. Substance dependence can be devastating to you and your family. I utilize a number of evidence-based treatments combining specialized psychotherapy modalities and specific medications to help patients with substance use disorders return to full, healthy lives.
