I grew up witnessing people with mental illness being teased and physically abused on the streets by the people around them. Seeing some of our most vulnerable population being mistreated in this way left an indelible impression on me and I believe that experience, in part, influenced my decision to enter a profession that was all about caring for others.
I initially worked as a registered nurse for many years prior to becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I am a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s psychiatric nurse practitioner program.
I am an advocate for the mentally or physically disabled, as well as a champion of women’s rights, LGBTQ rights and civil rights.
