Dr. Varshney is Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Varshney was born and raised in Sikkim, India. She graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Dr. Varshney completed her residency in psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine/ Elmhurst Hospital Center, in New York City. She then went on to complete a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Worcester, Massachusetts, Department of Law and Psychiatry.
Prior to switching to private practice, Dr. Varshney spent the last few years at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she has held academic, administrative and clinical roles. Dr. Varshney's research interests include women's health, informed consent, emergency psychiatry, acculturation issues, risk assessments, therapeutic jurisprudence.
