I am currently accepting new patients at this time. My approach is collaborative and non-directive, and I act as someone who can help identify possible routes through the challenges of your life but will not insist that you must choose a particular path. I am a consultant for you and what troubles you, and together we can identify what it is you care about in life and makes it worth living, what is standing in the way, and how medications and psychotherapy might be able to help you pursue the former and overcome the later.

When feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to handle life challenges, especially related to difficulties of a complex mood disorder, anxiety, focus/concentration, and work/home relationships, effective solutions can be found through a collaborative strategy. A holistic treatment approach integrates individual, targeted medication management with necessary psychological and physical care. Together, we can move beyond simply relieving symptoms and work toward lasting life changes that promote personal stability and growth.

Accepting New Clients! Hi friend, if you’ve tried therapy or meds, but you don’t feel like yourself yet, I see YOU. You might want help safely tapering off antidepressants or benzodiazepines because of long-term side effects. Or maybe you’re neurodivergent and craving support from someone who will truly understand you (by a fellow AuDHer). You want a provider that respects your nervous system, your story, and your pace. You do not want to be gaslit or dismissed. Just supported by someone who genuinely cares about you.

I love integrative treatment that involves collaboration with therapists and other providers.
Now accepting new clients for mental health evaluations, prescribing, and medication management for the entire state of Montana with the option for in-person visits at my offices in Anaconda and Havre. I have high standards for culturally informed, respectful, ethical, and principled mental health and addiction care. I have a particular interest in helping those who have failed mutliple medications for depression.

Hi, I’m Amanda — a psychiatric nurse practitioner who believes mental health treatment should feel collaborative, approachable, and occasionally include a dash of humor. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, and life’s general chaos. My style combines evidence-based treatment with genuine human connection — because no one wants to feel like they’re talking to a robot with a prescription pad. I’m especially passionate about personalized care, trauma-informed treatment, and helping patients feel understood, not judged.

I am licensed in Montana as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Montana State University, Bozeman. My practice is shaped by decades of experience as a first responder, nurse, educator, and artist. I have collaborated with world-leading mental health experts to develop best practices for helping first responders and others in helping professions (e.g., medical professionals, social workers, lawyers) reduce burnout and the effects of trauma exposure.

My approach is integrative, which means that treatment with medications may be combined with non-medication options, such as mindfulness-based interventions, life-style optimization, and nutritional supplementation.
Patients and families working with me are motivated to learn and apply new skills, and are interested in integrating medications with non-medication options. I treat a range of ages, from 3 years old to adulthood; particular areas of focus include the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD) and stress and anxiety disorders.

FAQ - Integrative Psychiatrists
What is integrative psychiatry?
Integrative psychiatry is an approach in which a psychiatrist draws from multiple treatment modalities, including different types of psychotherapy and medication management, to create a treatment plan tailored to an individual's specific needs. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic technique or defaulting straight to medication, an integrative psychiatrist considers a client's health holistically and collaborates with them to identify the most effective combination of treatments.

What can an integrative psychiatrist help with?
An integrative psychiatrist can address a wide range of mental health concerns by combining therapeutic approaches with medical expertise. Because psychiatrists can both prescribe medication and provide psychotherapy, they are uniquely positioned to adjust treatment plans based on how a client responds to different interventions. Integrative psychiatry can be part of a treatment plan for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, OCD, ADHD, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and a variety of other conditions. An integrated approach may be particularly useful when a mental health condition has not historically responded to one form of treatment alone.

How do I know if integrative psychiatry is right for me?
Integrative psychiatry may be a good fit if you have previously tried a single treatment approach, such as medication or therapy alone, and have not seen the results you were hoping for. It may also be worth exploring if your symptoms feel complex or interconnected, if you prefer a more collaborative approach to your care, or if you want a provider who will consider multiple factors contributing to your mental health rather than focusing solely on medication management. On the other hand, if your condition is well-managed with a straightforward treatment plan of therapy or medication alone, a regular psychiatrist may be sufficient. The best way to determine whether integrative psychiatry is the right approach is to schedule a consultation with a prospective psychiatrist to discuss your treatment history, current symptoms, and goals of care.
