In my experience, all people have phases in their lives where they would benefit from a partnership with a psychiatric provider.
I have worked with patients struggling with Substance Use Disorder as well as psychiatric distress for several years both as an RN and as an ARNP. In this time I have learned that there is so much more to one's mental health than one singular situation. When a healthy rapport is reached the healing can begin as the layers of pain are revealed.
