I am a board certified Child and Adolescent psychiatrist with over 27 years experience evaluating and treating children, adolescents and adults. My expertise is in therapy and psychopharmacologic treatment of patients of all ages, with additional experience in treating young children with ADHD, autism and mood disorders. My work with each individual and family is to develop a careful and comprehensive treatment plan targeted to each patient's needs. I feel very fortunate to care for my patients; each day brings a life story that I haven’t heard before, and each visit an opportunity to achieve better health and understanding.
My approach to psychiatric care of children and adolescents is to understand each patient individually and in their families. I have worked in outpatient clinics, residential programs, hospitals, and in private practice. My goal is to identify and address the primary issues getting in the way of reaching emotional health and overall happiness.
I am originally from Miami, Florida. I received my M.D. from Cornell University Medical College in 1993, and then completed my medical internship at St. Vincent's Hospital-Manhattan in 1994. My adult psychiatry residency and my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship were completed at Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard teaching hospital. I love my job.
