I am a double board certified Child and Adolescent and Adult psychiatrist with over 30 years of clinical experience, in Maryland since 2001. My expertise is in psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic treatment of patients of all ages, with additional experience in treating young children with ADHD, autism, anxiety and mood disorders. I work with each patient to develop a comprehensive treatment plan targeted to that patient's needs. Each patient brings a life story I have not heard before, and each visit an opportunity to achieve better health and understanding. My work is to understand the story, to provide excellent care.
My approach to psychiatric care is to appreciate the unique strengths and areas of difficulty for each patient, and to tailor a treatment plan that incorporates the strengths and recognizes the weaknesses. Treatment plans are created with the patient's guidance, to address their obstacles to better functioning, to build a life of resilience and happiness.
I am originally from Miami, Florida. I received my M.D. from Cornell University Medical College in 1993, and then completed my medical internship at St. Vincent's Hospital-Manhattan in 1994. My adult psychiatry residency and my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship were completed at Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard teaching hospital. I love my job.
