Healthcare workers, white collar, blue collar, yellow collar (It doesn't matter to me). I am open and available to those who are seeking help, understanding, medications, pet accommodations, work accommodations, prenatal and postpartum accommodations, and/or talk therapy. I have a southern background that comes with plenty of sass and hospitality. This is a no judgement zone. Talk with me and we can build a patient plan together. I currently work as an outpatient nurse practitioner in the Metro Phoenix area. I wanted to expand my services to those in need regardless of insurance status. I do not prescribe Benzos or stimulants.

I have a passion for treating people diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression, military or individuals struggling with PTSD or anxiety, and mothers suffering with postpartum depression and anxiety. Often, symptoms persist despite trying multiple medications or therapy modalities. TMS is a non-medication option that can be used for treatment resistant patients and I’m excited to offer this as an option for patients.

I also have experience with perinatal medications and treatment planning.
My name is Ally and I am currently accepting new patients for psychiatric evaluations + medication management for ages 10-65. When it comes to mental health, I truly believe that getting to know who you are as a whole person is one of the most important things that can happen. You are a person who has endured magical, painful, exciting, and hard things. You are more than just symptoms, and answers don't always just lie in prescriptions to "fix" these symptoms. Mental health is a whole-body experience and a journey, not merely a destination. Using medication to help with treatment is just a piece of the overall picture.

pregnancy loss, pregnancy-induced mood disorders, as they work towards achieving balance and wellness in their lives.
I enjoy using an integrative approach when helping children and adults achieve optimal physical and mental health wellness. I believe that the mind, body, and soul are all interconnected and therefore should be aligned as we work through life's challenges. I use a holistic approach by incorporating both eastern and western techniques; this may include medications, supplements, mindfulness, nutrition, breath work, and/or medical evaluation. I enjoy using a shared decision approach to help individuals tackle the challenges that life presents.

I focus on understanding my patients' struggles beyond diagnostic labels. I identify as a trauma-informed therapist. I understand how traumatic experiences deeply impact one's psyche and the disruptive effect these have on one's life trajectory . Understanding life stories and trauma responses lead to much more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

I've seen first hand the need for Perinatal Mental Health support.
Talking about Mental Health openly is a new concept. As the light is shed on mental health in general, there is another population that is struggling. This is the Perinatal population. Pregnancy is a wonderful time for some, while others struggle with anxiety and depression. Others do great during the pregnancy but struggle postpartum. Do you feel you need medication management? We can build a collaborative relationship and discuss the risks and benefits of all available treatments. Medication is an option, not a requirement.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Psychiatrists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
