I am a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in depression and anxiety. My specialty extends to those with epilepsy and seizure disorders. I commonly work with individuals with conditions that predispose them to seizure disorders, including: autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and genetic disorders. I work with both the patient and family to offer unique, specialized care, through medication management and therapy.
Those who have neurological and mental health conditions require treatment that addresses both medical and psychological concerns. These skills are not taught in school, but learned through experience. Having worked as both a psychologist at the Epilepsy Foundation and the Epilepsy Psychiatrist for Hartford Healthcare, I offer both.
I personally have been living with epilepsy since the age of 9. I’ve catered my 17 years of training and experience with the singular goal of helping my specialized patients with their mental health needs.
