I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over 17 years of experience working in psychiatry, 5 of which are as a medication prescriber. I follow a patient-centered approach where we work together as a team to develop a treatment plan. I do not treat the diagnosis; I treat the patient as a whole, addressing symptoms that help improve quality of life.
I typically work with children, adolescents, and young adults, although I do have a good deal of experience with older clients as well. I don't provide psychiatric care for elderly patients. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly. I have experience working with patients who have/had struggles with trauma, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, etc.
I like to create a calm tone in my appointments where I focus on the patient's concerns and the efficacy of their medications. I have a minimalist approach to medication prescribing, where I aim to prescribe the least amount of medication needed for a patient to feel comfortable and content in their day-to-day lives.
