I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice on Miami Beach. I believe talking about thoughts and feelings within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship can help us move and even grow through life's challenges with more freedom and flexibility. Recognizing and changing patterns or aspects of ourselves that we are not fully aware of can help with a variety of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, struggles with relationships or family, sexuality or body image concerns, or even just feeling "stuck," in certain areas when all else in life seems to be going "ok."
Therapy can also be a tremendous support to individuals dealing with illness, death, transitions, growing children or aging parents, separation/divorce, or difficult decisions that may also create a great deal of psychological pain.
My approach to my work with individuals is comprehensive, integrating psychological, social and genetic or biological factors. In addition to psychiatric training, I received additional training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute, which enables me to offer psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy to my patients.
