For me, the most satisfying part of practicing psychiatry is that each day I have the opportunity to interact with patients and help them improve their mental health and lives. Over my 23 years of private practice in Atlanta, I have seen firsthand that good psychiatric care, often in conjunction with targeted psychotherapy, can be transformative to a patient's health and well being. I enjoy getting to know my patients personally, because each individual has unique biology, life circumstances, and goals for themselves.
I am board certified in both psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry (ABPN), and have extensive experience in treating most adult psychiatric illnesses. I enjoy working with psychologists and psychotherapists whenever possible to create optimal outcomes for my patients.
I believe that all medicine, especially psychiatry, is more effective in a smaller setting, where patients feel acknowledged from the moment they walk through the office door. I work closely with all my patients to help clearly identify their symptoms and find the correct medication regimen and/or treatments to help them move forward in their lives.
