Great to meet you! I see patients in the State of Maine. I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have worked in the mental health field for 30+ years. Patient's describe me as "easy to talk to" and stated, "I feel like you listen to me." I work with patients struggling with depression, grief/loss, anxiety, anger issues, ADHD, and life transitions. Life can be hard, let me help you turn things around in the direction you want things to go! I provide medication management as well as supportive therapy.
Firstly, I listen. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I want to understand what you are struggling with and determine the best way to improve those things. You are not going to get to the end of your appointment being prescribed a medication and being told "see you in 4 weeks." I go over your diagnosis, discuss medication options, and answer your questions.
You will feel comfortable in our visit, it's not like going to the dentist :) I am down to earth and will explain things so that by the time we finish you will know the plan and what to expect. We will be striving for improvement in your ability to function in life through either medications and/or supportive therapy.
