He provided his psychiatric services as a Medical Director at Bay Pines VA Hospital, Boley Centers, Palms of Pasadena Hospital, St. Pete General Hospital and North Side Hospital. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to practice in psychiatry; diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Some of my practice specialties include, but not limited to, PTSD, ADHD, Personality Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Eating Disorders, and Addictions. I began my career at South Florida State Hospital, as a Mental Health Technician. After working as a Mental Health Technician and seeing how Mental health is affecting the community, my true meaning and purpose of helping came as a vision .

The Neuropsychiatric Institute provides Outpatient Behavioral Health Services for Adults, Families, Children and Adolescents. We believe that as long as you have your problems under control, then you do not need our assistance. However, if the problems have control over you, then you should seek help. Our approach is an eclectic, common sense approach. "Whatever works, works." Although we do utilize medications, our approach is to keep them to a minimum. There is no magic pill to solve problems.

Dr. Ahmed is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida. He completed his residency training at Temple University Hospital in psychiatry and then joined Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he completed a two-year fellowship in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology. He moved to Tampa in 2016 to start his private neuropsychiatry practice, Tampa Neuropsychiatry LLC. Dr. Ahmed specializes in the treatment of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, and adult ADHD. He also has subspecialty training in dementia including Alzheimer's and brain injuries.

Eduardo obtained his bachelor’s degree in Nursing from State college of Florida, Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. Additionally, he is certified as Psychiatric Mental Health NursePractitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center ANCC. In addition to his extensive professional training, Eduardo also brings a unique cultural perspective. As a native of Peru, Eduardo brings unique insight to those who may feel as outsiders, or have experienced moving or adapting to a new environment. Eduardo speaks fluent English and Spanish, and can treat patients in both languages.
