Board Certified in lifespan psychiatry, adult health and addiction, my preferred clients are those 18-years-old and older that are primarily seeking professional consultation and treatment for a struggle with addiction and/or mood disorder. I will consider adolescents on a case-by-case basis. I'm a proponent of individual and group psychotherapy and the utilization of recovery models such as 12 Step programs and SMART Recovery. Medication alone is usually not the answer but a comprehensive care plan involving medication (if deemed necessary) and proper counseling.
Since 2005, I've worked in various behavioral healthcare settings and roles including: inpatient/outpatient, detox/rehab, corrections, emergency mental health, and administration in Greater Norfolk, City of Baltimore and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Medication management, limited counseling and MAT (Vivitrol & Suboxone) services are offered.
When appropriate, I'll share general details about personal experiences with psychiatric and addiction disorders and how to get well from them.
