As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I prescribe psychiatric medication, perform psychiatric evaluations, and provide solution-oriented counseling to patients. Currently, I am seeing adult patients only. I treat a wide range of mental health issues and provide support and psychiatric care to people navigating lifespan, family, and career transitions, as well as patients facing health challenges like diabetes, cancer, addiction, and declining memory. My approach to prescribing is conservative and transparent; emphasizes safety, efficacy, comfort, and patient understanding; and is supported by research.
Together we will explore options and create a treatment plan for wellness that makes sense to you, considers your preferences and goals, and is evidence-based. Although I may recommend medication, I practice holistic care that acknowledges the connection between body and mind; recommendations may also be made for therapy, nutrition, exercise, and sleep.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a psychiatric nurse in a hospital and as a PhD level educator and researcher in addiction, brain biology, and genetics. My nursing, science, and education background all inform the care I provide to you.
