Children, teenagers, and adults in today's world face numerous stressors and difficulties. Dealing with mental health conditions on top of the day-to-day stress can be overwhelming for both the patient and their caregivers. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is certified in both mental health and pediatric primary care, I help manage my patients' mental health conditions so that they can live their best lives. Depending on the condition, my overall goal is to help patients achieve the point at which they understand and manage their mental health independently, helping them to live life to the fullest.
Research shows that a combination of medication, therapy, and healthy lifestyle changes provides the best results in improving most mental health conditions, especially for children. Although my treatment focus is medication management as a PMHNP, I incorporate healthy lifestyle changes into the care of my patients and I encourage them to attend counseling.
As an RN, I had experience working with patients in labor & delivery, postpartum, women's health, pediatric & adult primary care, internal medicine, and pain management. I have encountered treatment of mental health conditions in all of these areas. As an NP, I aim to help patients ages 5 years and older improve their mental health and live their best life!
