I work with children, adolescents, & adults who are struggling with challenges that impact their daily lives or overall well-being. Some come to treatment feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated after trying to manage symptoms on their own.
My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we identify concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan.

As a family psychiatric nurse practitioner, I am able to assess, diagnose and provide medication management. Currently, I am only taking middle school children through adulthood. When prescribing medication, to best serve the individual it is important to differentiate between what medical, psychiatric or areas that need other modalities. I provide counseling for the adult clients who I see for med management, should they want it. By working collaboratively with clients with their medication management, clients feel heard and more involved with their care.

It is the brave person who allows him or herself to feel vulnerable, admit there is a problem, and take steps to find the right help. I am committed to help people live their best lives. I completed a medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and am board-certified in Psychiatry and Preventive Medicine.

I treat psychiatric illness by listening to one's life story. Individuals are a harmony of thoughts and feelings; mind and body. Medications are sometimes necessary to help a person manage their day to day life but they are not sufficient. I prescribe medication if necessary and provide therapies that are suited to the individual patient. The focus is primarily on lifestyle therapy and daily practice. Lifestyle medicine includes diet, exercise, meditation, and stress reduction along with therapy. I know with the right support, knowledge and practice a person can experience joy, continue to grow and love.

What are the advantages of in-person psychiatry?
Psychiatrists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions, often using a combination of therapy and medication. For many individuals, working with a psychiatrist who offers accessible and consistent in-person care is an important part of building a strong and effective therapeutic relationship. While remote care has become more widely available, in-person psychiatry offers several unique advantages. Face-to-face sessions can help foster a deeper sense of connection and trust, particularly during the early stages of treatment. In-person visits may also be more appropriate for young children, individuals who benefit from a structured clinical environment, or those with complex mental health needs requiring close observation and coordination of care. Many patients also find that meeting in a dedicated office space—free from the distractions of home—helps them stay focused and engaged during sessions.
How can I find a psychiatrist who offers in-person services?
Psychology Today's online directory is a valuable resource for finding psychiatrists (MDs) and psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) who provide in-person services. As you explore your options, consider each provider's clinical expertise, therapeutic style, and office location to ensure their services are a good fit and easily accessible for you.
