I am a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner with 30 years experience in the field. I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland Schools of Nursing. I have practiced in inpatient, emergency room, mobile crisis, home care, day hospital, and out patient settings. I am licensed to provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management and psychotherapy to ages 16 and over. I have specialized in geriatric, adult and young adult , substance misuse, mood disorder, anxiety disorder, adoption, grief, gender identity and family crisis. I recently became certified as a psychedelic assisted therapist.

She received her graduate degree from Frostburg State University and is board certified as a PMHNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. After over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, she decided to become a nurse practitioner. Donna is also a certified nurse case manager with expertise in assisting clients in navigating the healthcare system’s complexities and obtaining the care they need.

While always having a private, psychotherapy practice, I was Chief of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center for 20 years and also Chief of Psychiatry at Kernan Hospital and Montebello Hospital. Now in full-time practice, my office is conveniently located in Pikesville, one block from Reisterstown Road. I am Board Certified and am a past president of the Maryland Psychiatric Society.

I provide talk therapy and medication management, as needed. Together, we can learn about how your mind works and put words to feelings that you have. We can also work to identify patterns which may be holding you back and potential shifts which may improve your feelings of efficacy. After training at Hopkins and then serving as full-time staff/faculty at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for many years, I am now in private practice where I treat a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, irritability, OCD, mood swings, Bipolar, and life stressors. I am double Board-Certified, and both a Psychopharmacologist (medication expert) and Psychotherapist (using Cognitive-Behavioral therapy and other approaches). Ms. Sims received her Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Indiana University. She is also a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and has an MBA. Her clinical passion is Patient-Centered Care and working in collaboration with Clients to assist them with their mental health well-being. She treats a variety of psychiatric disorders to include, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Adam is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and addiction issues. He has more than 25 years of experience in mental health, as a psychotherapist with a Cognitive Behavioral approach and as a nurse practitioner.
