Dr. Martha Maria Coetzee is a board-certified Psychiatrist and Addiction Psychiatrist with extensive international training. She completed her medical education at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, followed by seven years of postgraduate residency across multiple specialties. After moving to the U.S. in 1994, she completed 27 months of fellowship training in forensic, addiction, and child & adolescent psychiatry.
She has served as a visiting scientist and Research Assistant Professor and has broad experience treating adults, including uniformed personnel and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions. She recently retired from a full-time Chief Medical Officer role.
Dr. Coetzee takes a patient-centered, bio-psycho-social approach to care. She values open communication and actively encourages both positive and constructive feedback to guide treatment.
