Hi! My name is Marja M.Evenden, and I am an ABPN -certified psychiatrist in Philadelphia area. In addition to hospital work, I am also treating private patients. I would like to offer my extensive professional training, in the U.S. and in Europe, to help you feel better and improve the quality of life. Some of my special interests are: diagnostics and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, biological psychiatry/biomarkers, dual diagnoses, ADHD and low dose benzodiazepine dependence. By training I am well rounded to master the whole spectrum of psychiatric treatment types. I believe strongly in personalized medicine.
I have a long training in medicine, psychiatry, biological psychiatry and treatment of dual diagnoses. I have worked with several key opinion leaders on mood disorders, and addictive behaviors (U of Penn, Charles O'Brien Treatment Center, Philadelphia, PA, and Karolinska Institute, Sweden). My research has been in psychopharmacology and psychiatric genetics.
The goal is to offer the best possible individualized care for my patients. Being a working mother and having immigrated twice, I am keen on fostering resilience, optimism and mental flexibility in my patients.
