I am excited to be relocating to northeastern Colorado and will start taking new patients after 1/1/23. I currently only offer telehealth appointments. I enjoy working with adults who have a variety of mental health concerns. I have worked as a psychiatric nurse and as a psychiatric advanced practice nurse in Colorado throughout my career. I have been prescribing medications for over 20 years so I understand and appreciate the importance of medications in treating many mental health conditions. I offer both therapy and medication services.
I think that it is most helpful to combine medications with therapy and other holistic interventions. Medications set the table for change, psychotherapy creates the lasting change by helping grow actual new circuits in the brain. In addition to medication management, I provide brief psychotherapy.
I also refer clients to outstanding therapist colleagues in the community who offer a variety of effective treatment options. I am moving away from taking insurance. I find that insurers increasingly demand full access to health records despite serious privacy concerns. I will work with you to weigh the risks and benefits of releasing your records.
