I received my first nursing degree as a Clinical Nurse Leader from Georgetown University in 2017. This degree prepared me to work as an RN and I specialized in pediatrics, as I love working with children. I went back to school to earn my degree as a Psychiatric NP from The University of Virginia. While in NP school I completed my training on the Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Inova, Fairfax. Following graduation I continued my time with Inova on the Adolescent Unit, where I have worked for the past 2.5 years. Due to my time there, I am comfortable working with those in crisis, but look forward to seeing those on the outpatient side.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in Child and Adolescent care, but also enjoy seeing young and middle-aged adults. I pride myself in staying up to date on the latest research, as I have an appreciation for evidence-based care and using gold standard treatment measures.

I primarily deal with medication management, but I incorporate therapy into all my sessions. I am also a firm believer that medication in tandem with therapy produces the best treatment outcomes. Additionally, I will only recommend meds if I feel it will benefit the patient and is appropriate. I pride myself in offering a safe space for all individuals.

Types of Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Although, I primarily handle medication management, I incorporate therapy into all of my sessions. I frequently utilize CBT techniques, but will use DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and MI (Motivational Interviewing). I encourage all of my patients to work with a therapist outside of working with me, as research shows medications in tandem with therapy leads to the best outcomes for patients.
