My clinical practice focuses on the mental health needs of populations that are historically underserved and misunderstood by mainstream psychiatry, including children and adolescents, autism and neurodivergence, and the LGBTQIA population, with a focus on empowerment, validation, and self-acceptance. I also focus on the needs of first responders and medical professionals, whose careers can cause enormous trauma, stress, and burnouts, and actively fight against the stigma around these individuals seeking mental health care. Eating disorders are another area I have experience in, having spent 3 years in a specialty treatment center.
My mission is to bring hope, acceptance, and empowerment to individuals from marginalized communities, to be an advocate and partner in a system many have long felt to be broken, and to provide a sense of safety and empowerment in a field that has long mistreated and neglected these populations.
The most meaningful compliment I've received from a client was that I had restored her faith in psychiatry. As a transgender woman, she had long felt ostracized and had a strong sense of mistrust towards the mental health system. She told me how she felt seen, heard, and valued under my care. My goal is to restore a sense of safety for all my clients.
