I am a psychiatrist with many years of experience treating children, teenagers and adults. I am double-boarded, with certifications in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. I was drawn to medicine by a fascination with the interplay between the mind and the brain. But while the physical brain can be examined in many ways, the human mind is still best understood through a discussion of thoughts and feelings between patient and doctor.
My clinical focus is on evidence-based assessment and treatment. I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, OCD, ADHD, trauma, personality disorders and autistic spectrum disorders.
Effective treatment starts with a conversation. A patient who feels heard, accepted and understood will be more comfortable sharing difficult details and sensitive concerns. This in turn allows me to gain the most meaningful information about the patient’s symptoms and needs.
