At Manhattan TMS, a division of Principium Psychiatry, we specialize in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS is a cutting edge, FDA approved treatment that uses an MRI type magnet to stimulate areas of the brain, thereby treating depression and anxiety. This treatment is non-invasive and is performed in the comfort of our private office, overlooking Central Park, near Columbus Circle, in Manhattan. Manhattan TMS is under the leadership of Dr. Ziv Cohen, an expert in mood and anxiety disorders and faculty member at Cornell and Columbia Universities.
During TMS treatment, the device provides pulses to areas of the brain associated with depression and anxiety. By stimulating these areas, the treatment increases the metabolic activity of the brain, thereby restoring normal brain function and eliminating depression and anxiety.
