Lucian Manu, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine. He is the Director of Neuromodulation in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, and the Founding Director of the Stony Brook Treatment Resistant Depression Program - a research and clinical service program for complicated and difficult-to-treat mood disorders. Dr. Manu has published in peer reviewed journals such as the Brain Stimulation Journal, Journal of Affective Disorders, Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment, Nature Partner Journal Schizophrenia.
Dr. Manu is the principal investigator for multiple clinical studies using new therapies and devices – Intra Nasal Ketamine and Esketamine, Intra Muscular Ketamine, Intra Venous Ketamine, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) – for the treatment of refractory mood disorders.
Dr. Manu obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania, and completed his internship and residency training in psychiatry at New York University Medical Center, where he was a clinical instructor of psychiatry at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine.
