If you or your child no longer feel real joy, I’d like to help. The core of my practice is judicious medication management. I’ve been doing this for many years: first as a nurse-midwife, now as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I am still dual-credentialed in both. I treat people of all types, but most frequently children and perinatal women. My patients, big and small, grapple with issues like anxiety, trauma, depression, OCD and eating disorders. Issues around fertility, pregnancy, parenting and menopause remain among my strengths, even though I rarely deliver babies anymore (and I miss it, sometimes!). My approach is holistic.
What I learned as a midwife is the central importance of mental health to successful patient outcomes. I saw how often medication dramatically helped, and how adding complementary treatments helped even more. Now, as a mental health professional, I work with patients to find the unique regimen that lifts dark clouds and allows smiles to peek back in.
Here’s how it works. We’ll meet for an hour first, then in half-hour sessions to monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. I may suggest other therapies or behavioral and dietary charges as well. With your permission, I'll collaborate with your existing support network like therapists, family, counselors and teachers.
