I am a board certified psychiatrist and beyond the MD degree I have had four years of full-time training in the total spectrum of treatments for mental health problems. If you have had mental health care before - or even if you haven't - you may have wondered if medications may be right for your condition, if they may be helpful in addition to counseling or psychotherapy. I specialize in offering people both, and for many people this is a more comfortable and convenient option than having a separate primary care physician and psychotherapist providing care.
Psychiatric medications have come a long way in the past few years, with medications that produce better outcomes with fewer side effects. As a board-certified psychiatrist I have had highly specialized training in order to prescribe medications wisely, safely, and responsibly.
I have also been trained and certified in forensic psychiatry and offer specialized services to people with legal issues and so I am able to be of assistance to you in providing evaluations of competency and other legal matters, and providing written reports and testimony before boards, hearings officers, and in court.
