I've dedicated my practice to treating individuals with a wide range of psychiatric illness. My specialties in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults utilizes the application of the bio-psycho-social model. After completing training in Adult Psychiatry, I pursued a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. I am available to provide medication management. In addition, I have recently become the medical director for Dr Kahlil Shillingford's Bariatric Surgery Practice. My duties include providing clinical supervision to office and hospital staff and performing performance improvement studies.

I have a doctorate in special education, which allows me to do comprehensive developmental evaluations and psychiatric for pediatric patients exhibiting developmental delays. I have a postgraduate certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, which allows me to prescribe and treat various psychiatric disorders. I have another master’s degree in family and marriage therapy, as well as a second master’s degree specializing in advanced practice family medicine. I will hold dual board certifications through ANCC and AANP.

I am Medically trained Physician Psychiatrist.I had the privilege to train at Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Hospital for 4 years in various branches of Psychiatry before I moved to the USA. I had a further Residency Training at SUNY Downstate Hospital Brooklyn, NY followed by a one year of Child Psychiatry training at the University of Florida. I have a fellowship in psychoanalysis from NYU and a 2 year of psychodynamic psychotherapy training at Willam Alanson White Institute , NYC.

I received my psychiatry training at University of Maryland and attended Johns Hopkins Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship program. My educational background was primarily in cognitive and clinical psychology research. While in school, I had the opportunity to interact with many mental healthcare providers in the field. Although I loved researching and contributing to the development of our collective knowledge of mental health, I felt I could impart the most good in a direct care role. I graduated with high honors from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College before earning my master's and doctorate degrees in nursing from Columbia University.
