I partner with my patients because I believe the best healthcare decisions are made when both provider and patient work together. Reach out to me if you are looking for a voice in your own healthcare, looking for someone who thoroughly understands medications and wants to be listened to very carefully. Contact me if you need someone who understands your anxiety and depression and is willing to comprehend your unique situation. Perhaps you are looking to make a change but don't know how to make the first step. Or perhaps you are tired of feeling a certain way but don't know how to articulate your feelings. Reach out!

Each person, child or adult, is growing and changing in a unique way. Biology, psychology, and social circumstances are all important in treating individuals, couples, and families. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychotherapy for children, family therapy, and conservative psychopharmacology. I am also using telemedicine where I can be available for video conferencing appointments should the circumstances calls it.

My practice is oriented towards long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults, sometimes including medication management as part of an overall treatment plan. I seek to provide non-critical, empathic, and respectful listening which will enable my patients to feel safe as we explore together the sources of their distress. As a person achieves greater self-understanding, greater self-acceptance and compassion towards oneself becomes possible, and this helps relieve suffering and affords greater personal freedom to become one's authentic self.

Psychiatrists are the only doctors who don't look inside the body to assess a problem. Think about it; all other doctors use imaging and labs to look inside a person’s body when making a diagnosis. That coupled with your symptoms is how they determine what the problem is. Unfortunately, mental health providers have learned that how a person feels is their only tool in assessing somebody. Because of this, psychiatrists often have no idea what’s causing the problem. This limits the treatment options to a prescribed “band-aid" that is used to reduce symptoms, instead of addressing the underlying cause of a problem.

Women and men are often stuck, stressed and feel trapped in their life. Many people use things that just do not work any longer. I help them to balance body, brain, mind, and spirit. I like to use what works. It is necessary to reduce emotional distress and discomfort. I use various methods to evaluate including: interviewing, listening, DNA testing, lab tests, metabolic, brain, and nutrition assessments. Tools used are: Nutritional supplements, exercise, medications. Hypnotherapy (RTT) is used to get to the root cause, identify beliefs and make those changes the person wants.
