About
I specialize in state-of-the-art, outpatient treatment of stress, anxiety and depression. I have extensive experience treating patients with bipolar disorder, mood disorders, PTSD and ADHD. Most of my patients work, go to school and are able to live their lives, but have issues that "get in their way." Others experience more significant distress. I treat each person with what he or she needs, whether it is with interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy or medicine, including suboxone and esketamine, if needed. I do not insist my patients stay in therapy for years, as independence is our mutual goal.
I combine my understanding of the sciences, social sciences and humanities to help individuals face their most trying moments effectively: with grace, dignity and compassion. It is an honor and privilege to help my patients, I work to create a warm environment of mutual respect, exploration, self-discovery and self-efficacy.
My practice involves psychotherapy: CBT, psychodynamic therapy, DBT, ACT and psychopharmacology. My Ph.D. is in neuroscience; select publications include: Anxiety and Suicide; Inflammation and Psychiatry, Impulse Control Disorders; ADHD and depression and ADHD and Autism. I am section editor on American Psychiatric Association publications.
